Costume Tailoring Workshop on Farpoint Saturday

Do you have a costume that you love but just isn’t quite there? Bring it to our Costume Tailoring Workshop in the Dulaney Ballroom 1 on Saturday 2/18/12 from 10am to noon and get help to fix those puckered seams and hanging hems in time to wear your costume for the rest of the convention! Thanks to John Broughton from the USS Farragut for donating his time and resources to make this happen.

Wrath of Khan – Dinner and a Movie!

Media Panels at Farpoint

Panels are planned to begin Friday afternoon and will run throughout the convention. Science Programming News

When at Farpoint, check out Vex Lego Robotics! This program is geared toward youth and young adults, although all are welcome. Explore the world of robotics competitions using the VEX Robotics system. Learn how to start your own robotics program at your school and play with some already built robots. There will be discussions of both the VEX Robotics and FIRST Robotics competitions. Time and date will be announced when the schedule is available in early February.

Hotel Room reservation deadline is 1/15/12. 1-877-2-CROWNE (1-877-227-6963) – make sure to say you are attending Farpoint to get our room rate, the reservation code is FPT.

Pre-Registration deadline is 1/31/12. Register online through our website, www.farpointcon.com, or by printing and mailing in the form from the website. Weekend price at the door will be $85.00

Coming to Farpoint 2012 – Youth Programs

Farpoint 2012 will feature activties for children and young adults, including a Friday Night Pajama Party and the return of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. The tea party will feature light snacks, cookie decorating and Mad Hat making. Look for additional information when the 2012 schedule is published in a few weeks.

Farpoint has a limited number of small press/writer/artist tables for sale. These tables are for the sale of printed material and artwork only. Jewelry and other 3d art (such as pottery or knitted goods) may not be sold on the table (you may purchase a regular dealers table to sell that type of merchandise). Farpoint’s own Insane Ian has just released a Harry Potter/Weezer parody EP entitled “Weezard” at bandcamp. Ian says, “In celebration of the final Harry Potter movie hitting DVD & Blu-Ray, and the fact that Rivers Cuomo of Weezer looks like a grown-up HP, I figured making an EP that featured parodies of Weezer songs about Wizards was a great idea!”

Weezard is a seven-song EP, available for $5 for download, or $6 for physical copy + download.
