We’ve just confirmed the menu and cost! A CHANGE TO FARPOINT’S FRIDAY NIGHT BANQUET AND OPENING CEREMONIES!

We’re trying something new and less formal for our Friday night Opening Ceremonies that will hopefully encourage ALL to attend. Instead of doing our traditional sit down banquet, we’re going to have a time for light food and socializing as we kick-off our Opening Ceremonies and LIVE ENTERTAINMENT (including Prometheus Radio Theater, Insane Ian, Jonah Knight and Gentleman Jim). At this time the menu will include two meat carving stations, a pasta station, and a salad station. Desserts and coffee/tea will also be included. The cost will be $25. There will be limited at the door tickets available.

Costume Tailoring Workshop on Farpoint Saturday

Do you have a costume that you love but just isn’t quite there? Bring it to our Costume Tailoring Workshop in the Dulaney Ballroom 1 on Saturday 2/18/12 from 10am to noon and get help to fix those puckered seams and hanging hems in time to wear your costume for the rest of the convention! Thanks to John Broughton from the USS Farragut for donating his time and resources to make this happen.

Wrath of Khan – Dinner and a Movie!

When at Farpoint, grab your dinner at the Northern Lights or concessions and join us for a 30th anniversary showing of the Wrath of Khan in the Dulaney Room Saturday 2/18/12 from 6pm to 8pm. Tables will be available for you to relax and enjoy your dinner and the show.

Media Panels at Farpoint

Panels are planned to begin Friday afternoon and will run throughout the convention. Science Programming News

When at Farpoint, check out Vex Lego Robotics! This program is geared toward youth and young adults, although all are welcome. Explore the world of robotics competitions using the VEX Robotics system. Learn how to start your own robotics program at your school and play with some already built robots. There will be discussions of both the VEX Robotics and FIRST Robotics competitions. Time and date will be announced when the schedule is available in early February.

Hotel Room reservation deadline is 1/15/12. 1-877-2-CROWNE (1-877-227-6963) – make sure to say you are attending Farpoint to get our room rate, the reservation code is FPT.

Pre-Registration deadline is 1/31/12. Register online through our website, www.farpointcon.com, or by printing and mailing in the form from the website. Weekend price at the door will be $85.00

Coming to Farpoint 2012 – Youth Programs

Farpoint 2012 will feature activties for children and young adults, including a Friday Night Pajama Party and the return of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. The tea party will feature light snacks, cookie decorating and Mad Hat making. Look for additional information when the 2012 schedule is published in a few weeks.
